Bee’s Knees Update!

I am so excited to share an update to the Summer Bee’s Knees seasonal decor!

On a recent outing with friends, I found two mustard yellow finials at a local consignment/antique shop…And then I found two more on Mercari! These architectural accents repeat the color of the orbs and bring an eclectic and curated vibe to the overall look.

As I was helping a friend select some of my inventory items for a wedding reception, I came across a bee vase I had in my decor cabinet! I just swapped the floral arrangement out of the glass vase and plopped it on the cabinet.

Since finding the MacKenzie-childs Queen Bee collection last year,
I have kept my eye out for sales or items on resale and my opportunity finally arrived!
First, there was a two-day barn sale at the main website and I was able to get some bee candles, a clock, and kitchen towels at significant savings with free shipping.

Then, I was fortunate to locate several items on eBay and I really saved big! I found four beautiful MacKenzie-Childs Nectar yellow damask and beaded 18” pillows – all for less than the retail price of just one pillow! I also found a honeycomb and yellow 20” pillow – it is topped with a bold and beaded bloom. I added these to the beaded Queen Bee pillows I already had from last year. I love the mixed scale of patterns and textures and bringing more pops of golden yellow to the spaces.

My biggest and most exciting find was the like-new condition Queen Bee Side Chair. It was listed on eBay at less than half of retail, but because of the barn sale, I was able to negotiate an incredibly low price (so low I’m embarrassed to say how little I paid) and it looks absolutely gorgeous in the room! This chair is made with beautiful fabrics as well as fine craftsmanship and the beaded back is stunning!

As I have said before, you don’t have to complete a look all at once. Take your time to find the right pieces as you can afford them! And don’t just shop retail – remember to look on resale websites. I hope you enjoy these changes I made to Summer Bee’s Knees as much as I do. Be sure to follow my blog for more seasonal decor ideas!
